PROJECT MANAGEMENT

A five-day project management software trial

A repeatable test for Asana, monday.com, ClickUp or Trello, using work your team recognises.

Day one: bring one project

Choose a small project with real hand-offs and a deadline. Import or create the tasks, assign owners and agree on status labels. Avoid moving the whole organisation on day one. Record the time spent setting up and any features blocked by the trial or selected tier.

Day two: test collaboration

Invite two colleagues and one sample guest if external collaboration matters. Ask them to find their tasks, add an update and attach a file. Review notification volume together. A system that overwhelms the team can make important updates harder to spot.

Day three: change the plan

Move a deadline, mark a dependency as delayed and add a recurring task. Check whether downstream work stays understandable. Test a second view only if the team needs it; buying a tool for a dashboard nobody will use adds cost without improving delivery.

Day four: report and automate

Prepare the report your manager normally asks for. Create one small automation, then inspect how its usage is counted. Check who can change automations and whether the selected plan includes them. Compare the result with a manual weekly update to see what time the tool really saves.

Day five: export and decide

Export the project and review the file outside the application. Ask the participants what was easier, what was slower and what needed training. Price the required tier for your actual users and guests. Finish with a short written decision, an owner for rollout and a date to review adoption.
