Typedream vs Strikingly:
custom domains, site allowances and selling fees.
Typedream versus Strikingly for landing pages and small business sites, including domain access, publishing capacity and platform selling fees.
Choose around your work.
Check the retained plan.
Typedream suits a landing-page or creator-site brief with per-site packages and digital-product selling. Strikingly bundles different numbers of paid sites into its subscriptions and adds store or membership capabilities by tier. Free publishing is available with both, but a business domain, selling fees and the maintenance workflow change the paid comparison.
Seven differences that change the shortlist

Four worked buying briefs
These are hypothetical scenarios with explicit assumptions. They do not establish equal capabilities, measured usability or a negotiated price.
| Buying brief | Typedream | Strikingly |
|---|---|---|
| One free test landing page | One published page fits the Free allowance. | Evaluate a free site for the required content. |
| A paid launch on an existing domain | Evaluate Launch or a higher per-site package. | Evaluate a paid plan with the required page scope. |
| Two separate business sites | Budget a plan for each site. | Review included paid-site allowances and any extra sites. |
| A small shop requiring branding removal | Define product delivery, branding and checkout requirements. | Pro includes branding removal; check product count and fees. |
One free test landing page
Which starting offer can be evaluated?
Typedream: One published page fits the Free allowance.
Strikingly: Evaluate a free site for the required content.
Free publication does not provide a business custom domain.
A paid launch on an existing domain
What selects the package?
Typedream: Evaluate Launch or a higher per-site package.
Strikingly: Evaluate a paid plan with the required page scope.
Confirm root and subdomain setup without transferring domain ownership unnecessarily.
Two separate business sites
Which plan unit matters?
Typedream: Budget a plan for each site.
Strikingly: Review included paid-site allowances and any extra sites.
Use the required features on both sites rather than comparing headline prices alone.
A small shop requiring branding removal
What needs a specific check?
Typedream: Define product delivery, branding and checkout requirements.
Strikingly: Pro includes branding removal; check product count and fees.
Complete a sample refund and digital delivery before making a platform choice.
Run the maintenance workflow
Give a permitted collaborator a sample page change. Check what they can edit, whether they can publish and how the prior version can be recovered. Review the page on a narrow phone before accepting the change.
For a blog or directory, define collections, fields, URLs and how an editor adds a new item. A page allowance and a collection allowance measure different parts of the content system.
Separate the platform fee from payment processing
Describe what is sold, how it is delivered and how refunds work. Record the platform transaction fee and the payment processor’s charge as separate lines. Include currency conversion or add-on services only where required by the actual checkout.
Model a normal month and a launch month with the same order values. Keep site subscription and domain renewals separate from order costs. A higher plan can change the platform fee without removing payment-processing charges.
Questions before you choose
Can either Free plan use a custom business domain?
Custom-domain access is a paid feature in the checked packages. Typedream Free uses its own address; Strikingly requires a paid subscription for a custom domain.
Are paid packages priced per site in the same way?
No. Typedream states its plans are per site; Strikingly packages include different allowances for paid sites. Compare the actual sites and features needed.
Does a zero platform selling fee mean a zero-cost checkout?
No. Payment processing and other required services may still charge. Reconcile the actual provider quote and a sample order.
Keep the assumptions with the figures
Use the date, billing cycle, units and limits with each example. Check current account terms before purchasing. Unverified prices and model costs stay unpriced.
